Cheryl Irwin
Cheryl has been teaching students with special needs since 2005. Cheryl has her masters degree in Special Education from Hunter College and is dual certified for Special Education and General Education. She has her teaching license in both New York and New Jersey. She became National Board Certified in 2012. Cheryl specializes in working with both special education students and general education students who are struggling in the general education setting. She has a lot of experience working with students with adhd, dyslexia, dysgraphia, autism, ODD, and other behavioral issues. As a teacher, Cheryl worked extensively in Co-teaching and out-of-classroom positions. Additionally, she served as the district representative for her school for 5 years. She is familiar with many different curriculums and is adept at modifying a curriculum to better fit a child. Cheryl has both a strong understanding of the struggle that takes place in the classroom and the struggle that can take place in the home. As the parent of three children, Cheryl is familiar with the effects that a struggle in school can have in the home.
